Today is the birthday of comic actor W. C. Fields who was born on this date in 1880.
Well, we had sleet and freezing rain for part of the night last night. Now it’s snowing. They’re predicting 7 to 12 inches! Just think! A few days ago it was in the 60s! It’s slated to keep snowing through tomorrow morning. Much to my surprise, it seems the “rain is wet” crew were actually right with their forecast this time around!
In a freaky weird coincidence, late last night/early this morning I posted on Facebook that the sleet was “tap tap tapping” on the window, a la Edgar Allen Poe‘s poem The Raven. Then I discovered when I got up this morning that poem was first released on this date in 1845! How bizarre is that?
Until the other night during the figure skating exhibition, I had never listened to any music from Lady GaGa until Johnny Weir skated to her song Poker Face. Now I am hooked on her music. How the heck did that happen?
Not a lot on tonight. Caprica and Ghost Adventures. So I’ll also be catching up on recorded stuff.
Read through the final pages of the Greek gods book. Discovered some loose ends I forgot to tie up. Oops.
Reading: Finished up Dial Om for Murder which was a fun read. Then I read All the Wrong Moves by Merline Lovelace who’s branching out into the mystery genre from romance. It was a fun read too once I got past the whole saguaro cactus in Texas thing (one mention in the book and all over the cover). There are no saguaros in Texas. Saguaros grow only in Arizona and a small portion of California. This has been a pet peeve of mine for years. *g* But people who’ve never lived in the desert always persist in thinking saguaros grow everywhere in the desert. Heck, even I used to think that until I moved to Arizona. So I guess I should cut other people some slack. But where’s the fun in that?

We don’t know exactly what we’ll get here. They’re calling for snow in some areas and ice in others. Doesn’t it just figure I have to take Daughter out to find her something to wear to the funeral.
Bad Romance by Lady Gaga is pretty good, too. *g*
I do prefer it when an author does the correct research.
I hope you have a good day.

I like Lady Gaga too. I haven’t heard all of her music but what I have heard, I really like. I think she’s got that something that so many others don’t.

I just bought Lady GaGa’s album because I enjoyed four of the songs. They do have a great beat.
See, this city gal would have never have thought saguaros was not found in Texas; heck I didn’t know what they were until I looked it up.

LOL!!! You’re exactly right. Saguaro’s are native to Arizona. I thought I’d only referenced them when my characters drove to AZ in pursuit of the bad guys but I found another reference in the early part of the book that shouldn’t have been there. Good catch!!!
