That’s the Olympics motto not an excuse. *g*
Last night’s game was quite exciting! The men’s short track speed skating was a nail biter! The Koreans have a habit of “team skating” which is technically illegal but also hard to prove. Near the very end of the race, all three Koreans were in the 1, 2, 3 spots. The U.S. skaters, Apolo Ohno and J.R. Celski, were in 4th and 5th. Then all of a sudden, the Koreans in 2nd & 3rd somehow managed to trip each other up (while trying to keep Ohno from passing them, IMO) and they went spinning off the track!
Serves them right for pulling stunts that border on cheating. So we won silver and bronze. Our first medals! I just wish Korea hadn’t won the gold. I’d have preferred to lose to Canada. Then later in the evening we had women’s mogul skiing. It was a close thing between American Hannah Kearney and Canadian Jenn Heil. The finish: Kearney won gold, Heil won silver, and American Shannon Barhke won bronze.
Today and tonight, we have more speed skating, biathlon, hockey, skiing, pairs figure skating short program, and luge.
There’s also a couple of episodes of a new show on National Geographic Channel I’ll be recording called A Traveler’s Guide to the Planets. From NGC themselves, “Learn what to pack, which planet has the best sights, and where to park the rover.” Doesn’t that sound like a fun show?
Reading: I fell asleep while reading last night, so I haven’t yet finished Cockatiels at Seven. And it wasn’t the book’s fault I fell asleep. It was just my lack of being able to keep my eyes open. *g*

I don’t need to watch the Olympics! I have you! *G* They seriously tried to cheat? Kinda like roller derby but on ice skates? Good grief, serves them right tripping.
That Planet show does sound interesting. I missed a show about super soldiers ninja assassins this past week that Daughter and I wanted to see, did you see it?
I hope you have a Sweet Valentine’s Day!

I saw that race and I saw that push they gave Apolo. The moguls race was fun. I liked how the first three finishers sat in the chair and the moved after each race completed. I knew that we had at least one medal in race.
I’m a little disappointed that we have not seen the medal ceremony.

I was so pleased that happened to the Koreans… made me really angry to watch.
And, we were SCREAMING in our house when Hannah Kearney was skiing — she was awesome!
And Shannon Barkey just cracks me up. She has enough enthusiasm for twenty people.
It’s been a fun Olympics so far.
