That’s a good excuse that could also sound legitimate. :)

Well, we had some wild storms last night. Tornadoes to the northwest and southeast of us, plus rain, hail and wind. If we can’t move, one of those nifty underground houses sounds like a really good plan.

On this date in history:

  • In 1918, the “Spanish” influenza began spreading around the world. By 1920, 22 million people worldwide had died.

We’ve had another celebrity death. Pro football player turned actor Merlin Olsen passed away yesterday. He was only 69. I never met him but his TV show Father Murphy was filmed, in part, at the Old Tucson Studios which was nearly my home away from home when I lived in Tucson. Olsen was suffering from cancer.

Not a thing on tonight I care to watch except The Mentalist so I can watch a couple more recorded shows.

Worked through a few more pages of the Book That Will Not End.

Reading: Loved Take Me If You Dare, even the parts that made me cry so much I couldn’t breathe. *g* Now I’m reading Death of a Ghost by Margery Allingham. Allingham was a contemporary of Agatha Christie and wrote the Albert Campion series which I got hooked on years ago when Mystery adapted some of the books for their TV show. The book I’m reading was originally written in 1934.

  1. Didn’t Merlin Olsen also star on Little House on the Prairie? No idea what we’ll be watching tonight.
Hope you’re having a great day!

  2. The “Book That Will Not End” makes a great book title.

  3. This may sound crazy, but I’m really ready for a summer thunderstorm right now. I could do without the tornado though.

Have you started digging the trenches for your underground house?
