This excuse has to be accompanied by scraping your fingernails over the phone’s transmitter to be truly effective.
On this date in history:
- 1902 – Film producer David O. Selznick was born.
- 1922 – Actress Nancy Walker was born.
- 1924 – J. Edgar Hoover was appointed as the Director of the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation, and remained so until his death in 1972. I wonder if he wore a dress, heels and pearls when he was appointed? *wink wink nudge nudge*
- 1954 – Bill Haley and His Comets release Rock Around the Clock. It was the first rock & roll record to reach number one on the Billboard charts.
And we’ve lost another legend. Singer/dancer/actress Lena Horne passed away yesterday at the age of 92.
It’s a gray, rainy day here. But no storms at the moment which is good. Oh great. The Weather Channel people just said we could have tornadoes tonight. No! Absolutely not! I refuse!
Anyway.
Tonight on TV, we have new episodes of Chuck, DWTS, and Castle.
Reading: Still reading Good Omens. It’s LONG. *g*

We have gray skies here today, too. I want SUN! I hope y’all don’t get those tornados.
CASTLE! Can’t wait for a new episode.
Have a wonderful day!

Hey,
Sorry I’ve been absent lately. My laptop is still in the shop. Argh. I hate working on this computer. Anyway, stick to your guns. Do not, under any circumstances, let those tornadoes come your way.

Ever since I heard Lena passed on, the song “Stormy Weather” floats in my mind.
