That is a flat out lie. It’s also one I’ve used. *g*

Happy birthday to the late great Gracie Allen who was born on this date in 1895. She passed away after a heart attack in 1964 at age 69. While she played the zany “dumb blonde” to her husband George Burns straight man, she was actually a highly intelligent comic genius. And she was the love his life. He never remarried after her death even though he lived another 32 years.

Tonight on TV, we have new episodes of American Pickers and Rizzoli & Isles.

Reading: Now I’m reading another old ebook, The Daffodil Mystery by Edgar Wallace which was published in 1920. I’m sure the heroine of my 1920s murder mystery has read this book. *g*

  1. I always thought Gracie Allen had to be a genius to play dumb so well. But, she didn’t play dumb so much as sweet and innocent. *g*
Wish you liked The Closer! I can’t wait for it and Rizzoli and Isles tonight.
    I hope you’re having a terrific day!

  3. Your title cracks me up! It’s so true. If someone says that I automatically think, “Yeah, right!”
