So I was listening to the Celtic music program from the university radio station this morning and they played a lot of songs about summer ending. Now, personally, I don’t think summer IS going to end. I think it’s here to stay.
But the songs were kind of sad. I don’t need sad songs. I need happy songs! Fun songs! So why is every satellite music station playing depressing music???? Is it a conspiracy??? C’mon, people, I need something to pull myself out of the funk I’m in!!! *sigh*
Today in history:
- 1893 – Legendary writer Dorothy Parker was born. My favorite quote of hers: “If all the girls who attended the Yale prom were laid end to end, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised.”
- 1901 – Cadillac Motor Company was founded.
- 1902 – Theodore Roosevelt became the first President of the United States to ride in an automobile. I wonder if it was a Cadillac?
Not much else going on around here. Oh wait! I forgot to tell you the latest on the Dollar General. They have the blacktop down for the parking lot and all the stripes are painted too.
The only thing on tonight is Leverage. Wonder who Eliot will beat up tonight?
Reading: Now I’m reading a good mystery from 1904 called The Albert Gate Mystery by Louis Tracy.

I LOVE Teddy Roosevelt! I think we should resurrect him and turn him loose on Washington!

I’m ready for summer to be over. Bring on Fall! I don’t see how summer ending is sad, those are weird songs. Hope you found something to liven your mood.
Dorothy Parker was something else, love that quote! *g*
Hope you have a terrific day!

When you find a song to get you out of your funk, I beg you to share it with me. I’ve been feeling “funky”–and not in a cool way–for quite some time. Amazing how it changes your day to day routine.
