Boy, howdy! Has it ever! I’m not sorry to see the end of 2010. Though I have to admit, I have made a lot of new, wonderful friends. So it wasn’t a total loss.

Today in history:

  • 1904 – The first New Year’s Eve celebration was held in Times Square (then known as Longacre Square) in New York, New York.
  • 1929 – Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians’ had their first New Year’s Eve broadcast from the Roosevelt Grill in New York City. It became an annual event until his death in 1977.
  • 1947 – America’s favorite Western movie couple, singing cowboy Roy Rogers and co-star Dale Evans, were married.

There’s not really anything on tonight. So it’ll be recorded shows for me unless I watch some of the New Year’s Eve specials.

Keyed in another four pages last night.

Malfunction junction? Oh, wait. That’s not right. That’s not a School House Rock song, is it? Sorry.

Today in history:

  • 1924 – Edwin Hubble announced the existence of other galaxies. He said that Andromeda, previously believed to be a nebula, is actually another galaxy, and that the Milky Way is only one of many such galaxies in the universe.
  • 1948 – The Cole Porter Broadway musical, Kiss Me, Kate, opened at the New Century Theatre and became the first show to win the Best Musical Tony Award.

Tonight on TV I’ll be watching the rest of my Netflix DVD and the latest episode of Brad Meltzer’s Decoded which is the coolest show.

Keyed in four pages last night.

I’ve got nothing to say about this except it’s highly unlikely I’d ever use it. *g*

In fact, I’ve pretty much got nothing overall today.

And surprise, surprise, there’s nothing on tonight! But that’s okay because I got my first Netflix DVD today. :) Tonight I’ll be watching Lord Peter Wimsey Mysteries : Murder Must Advertise. This stars Ian Carmichael who isn’t my favorite actor in the role, but there isn’t much I can do about it.

Keyed in another 6 pages last night. Yay, me!

Reading: Now I’m reading another new-to-me author. Murder Your Darlings by J. J. Murphy. One of my favorite people to quote, Dorothy Parker, is the “detective” in this mystery series. It’s lots of fun, so far. I’ve laughed out loud several times.
