Okay. I know I have never used that as an excuse. LOL!
It’s overcast today. Wonder if we’ll get any rain? We could still use it. It’s insane. Some counties in our area are having flash flood warnings and we’re under a burn ban because it’s so dry.
Today in history:
1901 – Theodore Roosevelt, who was Vice President at the time, uttered the famous phrase, “Speak softly and carry a big stick” at the Minnesota State Fair. I think that’s one of the best mottos of all time, if not the THE best.
1925 – The U.S. Zeppelin USS Shenandoah crashed, killing 14. I still think traveling by airship would be fun. As long as you didn’t crash.
There is absolutely nothing on tonight. So… you know what that means. *g*
Read through another 20 pages last night but I also made the annoying discovery that when my hard drive crashed back in April, I lost my Greek gods cheat sheet cast of characters. And now I don’t remember who some of my supporting cast were back in the Old Days.
Read through 20 pages last night and 18 the night before which I forgot to mention. *g*
Reading: Finished up Tom Swift and His Motorcycle and have moved on to book #2, Tom Swift and His Motor Boat. One thing about these books, they’re not even remotely politically correct which is somewhat uncomfortable, but they’re normal for the time, I suppose. I’m glad we’ve moved beyond the racial absurdities of the time. Well, aside from the whackjobs who still want to keep stirring the pot. But we’ll not discuss that here.
We got some rain yesterday! Amazing! And we may get more today. But mostly it’s just overcast. Oh! It’s raining, sort of, now. It isn’t as hot, thank goodness, but it’s still very humid.
