That may well be true but I’ve never used it as an excuse. *g*
We had gorgeous warm weather yesterday. Today? Not so much. But tomorrow they’re saying a high of 72. So I have hopes for another day of shorts-wearing.
It’s almost Spring and that means, horse racing! All the tracks in the States are gearing up for the beginning of Derby Season. Time to start figuring out which horses I want to cheer on.
So, tonight on TV, we have NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Lost (can you believe there are only TEN episodes left until the show is over?! ), and the season finale of White Collar.
Read through and fiddled around with fifteen pages last night. I managed to avoid killing off any of the primary characters who are supposed to live to fight another day, so that’s a plus.
Reading: Now I’m reading Me and Mr. Darcy by Alexandra Potter which is quite enjoyable so far. It’s about a 29 year old New Yorker who keeps dating losers and bemoans not finding a man like Mr. Darcy. Then she goes on a literary tour of England with a bunch of elderly women and one obnoxious journalist. But at every stop they make on the tour, whenever she’s alone, Our Heroine runs into Mr. Darcy. Needless to say, she’s very confused about this. *g*
Forgot to add that I absolutely loved All About Evie and must snag copies of the next two books, pronto!
Well, I don’t drink at all, so this doesn’t really apply to me. But I’ve known people who could certainly use this as an excuse.
It’s still gloomy here. Rain, rain, GO. AWAY. And take that snow/wintry mix in the forecast with you! On the plus side, however, at least I don’t live on the East Coast. Yikes! They are getting buried under snow!
I’ve been listening to different music channels on satellite. I have now heard three different Lady GaGa songs. And I liked every one of them. Go figure.
There’s a horse race on this afternoon, but not a darn thing on tonight so I’ll be playing catch-up on recorded shows.
Did more tweaking on the Greek gods book last night. But today is going to be a genealogy day.
Reading: Last night I read Hot Spell by Michelle Rowen which is her first Harlequin Blaze book. It was very cute and fun and I Ioved it! Next up… Hold on Tight by New York Times Bestselling author (has the novelty worn off that yet, Steph? *g*) Stephanie Tyler. I already know ahead of time it’s going to rock because Steph’s books always do!
The sun is playing peek-a-boo this morning. It was shining brightly when I woke up earlier. Now… not so much. Rain starts up again tonight. Rain all day tomorrow, possibly turning to snow Wednesday night! I think winter has arrived. *g*
I was going to give you guys a little history lesson today on gas stations because one of my sources said the first gas station opened on this date in 1903 in Pittsburgh. Except when I went to my other sources they said the first one opened in 1905 in St. Louis. Hmm. That’s a bit problematic. So which was it? Anyone? Buehler?
I totally forgot to mention it yesterday but one of my uncle’s quarter horses raced on Sunday and WON!!!
Can you believe it’s already December?!?!?! Where did this year go? Guess I’d better start thinking about Christmas shopping….
There isn’t anything on tonight except Ghost Lab so I’ll be watching recorded stuff until then. Last night I watched a James Bond movie.
Wrote about half a page last night.
Reading: I decided to read Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters first. I don’t like it quite as well as P&P&Z but it’s still pretty good. I think it would have helped if I’d read the original story. I’m thinking I’d better read the original Mansfield Park before I try to read its revamp.
