I’ve got absolutely nothing today. Nada. Zip. Zilch. (What’s new about that? you say. LOL!!!) However, my alter ego has a new blog post up today.

Tonight on TV, we have a new episode of Leverage and a new Inspector Lewis.

Read through more of the Greek gods book last night. I’m slowly getting back into the groove.

Reading: Finished up Deep Six and now I’m re-reading The Red House Mystery by A. A. Milne. Yes, a murder mystery written by the creator of Winnie-the-Pooh. It’s the only one he ever wrote which is a shame because it’s a classic.

Is that another word for “fat”

Reading: Still reading The Daffodil Mystery. Went to the library today, so I have new regular books to read now. Just when I was starting to get used to the Nook. *g*

Tonight on TV we only have a new episode of Doctor Who which I’ll be recording.

Reading: I’m now reading Stalking the Puzzle Lady by Parnell Hall. This is another new-to-me author and I’m loving the book. Several laugh-out-loud moments.

Well, I don’t have a cat, so can’t use that excuse. But there’s one for you, Brandy.

Last night, I found out the Korean who won the gold medal the other night said Apolo Anton Ohno didn’t deserve to be on the podium! He said Ohno was the one causing all the problems on the ice! Them’s fightin’ words, mister! Hello? We could see the film footage, you idiot! Your little cohorts knocked themselves out of medal contention. And now I wish you’d tripped up too! Okay, I see now he was talking about the semi-final rounds but still. The Koreans were just as bad as they claim Ohno was.

Tonight, we have a new episode of Burn Notice which I’ll be recording because, yes, it’s still all about the Olympics. Tonight we have the finals of the men’s figure skating, women’s snowboarding (half pipe, I believe), women’s speed skating, and skiing.

Did more revising last night.

Reading: Finished up Prime Time which I liked a lot. I’ll be getting the other books in the series. Next up…. I haven’t decided yet.

And last night’s Olympics report…. Spoilers Ahead!

It was a good day for the U.S. yesterday. In women’s downhill skiing, Lindsay Vonn and Julia Mancuso won gold and silver respectively. In men’s 1000m speed skating, Shani Davis won gold and Chad Hedrick won bronze. And in men’s snowboarding half pipe, Shaun White blew the competition out of the water (off the snow?) to win the gold. Scott Lago won the bronze. WTG, USA!!!

Last week, Dru wanted to know if there were any tacky tourist traps in the New York City area. NYC is chockful of them! In fact, there are so many I had a hard time choosing just a few!

Our first stop today is The City Reliquary. It’s a big museum crammed into a tiny little storefront in Brooklyn.

Next we’ll visit the Hello Kitty statues.

For lunch, we’ll be eating at The Jekyll & Hyde Club which according to our friends at Roadside America is like eating inside the Disney Haunted Mansion.

After lunch you can visit Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum or wander around the Big Apple and discover the many other wonderful sites to be seen.

Tonight on TV, we have Ruby and the Rockits (always good for a giggle), Warehouse 13 (for a touch of steampunk) and Surviving Disaster (where former Navy SEAL Cade Courtley will teach us how to survive a raging inferno in an office building). RESEARCH!!!!

Didn’t do much steampunk research yesterday, but the zombie invasion is apparently still on the table. I can’t seem to scrub the idea from my brain. *g*

Reading: I started reading Twanged by Carol Higgins Clark last night, but I went to the library today, so I’m going to save it for when I’m finished with the library books.

The last remaining survivor of the Titanic passed away early yesterday morning in her sleep. Millvina Dean was only two months old when the Titanic sank. She died at age 97. To her and all the other passengers of that grand old (but not nearly as unsinkable as originally thought) ship, may you all rest in peace.

And my thoughts and prayers go out to the passengers of missing Air France flight AF447 and their families.

My hands are driving me insane. I think I’m finally going to have to break down and spend as little time on the computer as possible for awhile. So, I’ll be reading your blogs, friends, but may not be commenting.

The only thing on tonight is Life After People. I may just record that, though. We’ll see.

Reading: Finished up Never Say Sty and now I’m reading 4 Bodies and a Funeral by Stephanie Bond. This is the fourth (hence the 4 in the title *g*) book in the Body Movers series. This time around, our heroine Carlotta Wren ends up in the midst of the beginning of a serial killer’s rampage.

I just added up the number of books I read in May and it was the same exact number as Dru! How’s that for bizarre? I read 13 myteries, 6 fantasies, 4 childen’s/YA, and one action/adventure.

Happy birthday to Barbie who turns 50 today!!!

Tonight is going to be busy busy busy!!! Tonight we have Chuck, Heroes, 24, and a two-hour season premiere of Dancing With the Stars (well, at least some of them are stars, the others not so much). Also on is Unearthing Ancient Secrets which is focussing on Cleopatra’s death, but luckily it’ll be repeated a lot. Now, I have to watch 24 live because I enjoy hanging out with the gang from Dave Barry’s blog while watching. But I can record the second half of DWTS, no prob.

It’s still sunny today but cooler. Rain’s supposed to arrive tonight and go through Thursday. *sigh*

Reading: Now I’m re-reading The Shadow Gate by Margaret Ball. I haven’t read this in a loooong time and I’d forgotten just how fun it is! Ever since Queen Sibylle deserted Elfhame for another world, the land of the Elvenkind has been dying a slow death. Now Queen Alianora (aka Eleanor of Aquitaine, my ancestor! *g*) has tried to lure Sibylle back to fix the problems she caused. What they got instead was a mysterious girl named Lisa from the New Age Psychic Center in Austin, Texas who’s certainly not an Elf.

On TV right now: Design On a Dime which is a misleading title because they always spend close to a thousand dollars.

Well, I couldn’t get my photo software to work, so I’ll just have to be without an album cover. But my band’s name is Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the album title is “That is Coffee”.

Semi-good news at the chiro yesterday. Starting next week, I get to scale back to twice a week. Yay!

Wacky weather continues. Thursday it was in the 70s. Right now? It’s snowing!

Nothing on tonight except a show I’m going to record when it repeats called Shadow Force. It’s on History International and is about an elite private military group. Research! And I have officially given up Dollhouse. I lasted about five minutes in last night and couldn’t take it anymore.

Wrote another page last night. Up to page 207.

Reading: Now I’m reading a new to me author, Ellen Elizabeth Hunter. The book is called Murder On the Candlelight Tour. Murder mystery, obviously. *g* It’s quite good.

In 1954, The Tonight Show made its debut with host Steve Allen. Coincidentally, it’s also the birthday of Allen’s widow Jayne Meadows who turns 88 today.

And here’s something to make a body feel old. Shaun Cassidy turns 50 today!

Not much on tonight except Primeval. Nothing like hot British guys to perk a girl right up. Unless, it’s hot Navy SEALs, of course.

I’ll also be watching recorded stuff today. Last night I finally watched last week’s Eureka. Wow! I so did not see THAT coming. Also watched Criminal Minds and CSI: NY. Did the former seem a little, I don’t know, disjointed?

I was lazy last night and only wrote half a page. But, hey! That’s half a page more than I had before. *g*

Reading: Finished up Sofie Metropolis which I enjoyed tremendously (thanks, Brandy!). Then I started Bobbie Faye’s (kinda, sorta, not exactly) Family Jewels by Toni McGee Causey. Should be fun.

I didn’t sleep very well last night. Or, to be more accurate, more badly than usual. My ankle was aching something awful. My guess is the cold, wet weather. In fact, all my joints were kind of achy last night. But the ankle was the worst. I don’t recommend broken ankles.

The only thing on tonight I watch that isn’t a repeat is Life on Mars. Not that I’ve actually seen any of that this season. I’ve got it all recorded. I’m saving them for hard times. *g*

I wrote one sentence last night. But then I read through the first chapter. Some of it amuses me a great deal. Some of it needs work.

Reading: For Old Crime’s Sake by Delano Ames. Now Jane & Dagobert are off to a small royal island off the coast of southern Spain/France.
